Home Sweet Home
February 19th, 2009
Home prices have taken a bit of a punishing from our current economic troubles. Here is a look at how Fayette County fares compared to the surrounding counties in what we lovingly call the Bluegrass.
Median Home Sales Price Decline from 2007 to 2008:
ScottĀ -0.3%
Fayette -0.6%
Anderson -1.9%
Madison -2.7%
Jessamine -3.6%
Montgomery -4.1%
Clark -4.7%
Franklin -6.1%
Woodford -7.4%
Bourbon -12.3%
The high-growth Scott County edged out Fayette County by a nose, both with next to insignificant declines in median sales price. On the other end of the scale, home owners in Woodford and Bourbon Counties may want to put off selling their houses for a while.
